Being creative breeds creativity. And I credit my mom and dad for my creativity. My mom, a seamstress, and dad, a woodworker, always inspired me to create because that’s what I saw them doing. Be it drawing, painting, building, or writing.
I think I got my first real taste of self-expression in high school from my art teacher, who I credit so much for opening the doors of observation and creation. After all, this led me to my first love, which was photography.
After many years of exploring different mediums, eventually, I fell into writing. Starting with lyrics, then poetry, and finally, stories. My latest book of poetry, Optimistic Melancholy, is now available on Amazon and is the culmination of my work with narrative and prose.
I believe we should all be exposed to some form of creativity at a young age to build character and imagination. However, if were not, then any age is a good age. Who will you inspire to create today? Who will look back and credit you for sparking their creativity?
